Nice Place, but Lacking Qualified Staff

This Board & Care Home looks really nice. It seems clean and well-equipped. It is in a safe neighborhood. BUT.... Our issue involved the administrator, Irma. She changed the monthly $ amount (costs) depending on which family member she spoke to. This seems to dubious to us. We were not made aware of the fact that there is an impending ownership change. Apparently Irma, an administrator, is attempting to buy the license from the current owner. That means a fundamental change, and we're not sure, based on working with her, that she has sufficient experience to manage Dad's care and the that of the business. We were told everything was in order, but it wasn't until 4pm on a Friday--we were scheduled to move Dad on Saturday morning--that we learned IRMA had changed her mind about Dad. This essentially cost us $1500+ to keep Dad where he's at for 3 days until we regroup and find a better place. No reason was given why Irma did not contact us in a more timely manner. If Irma has medical qualifications of any kind, we are not aware of what they might be. Evidently, she misread Dad's medical record, then she argued with the medical staff and refused to take calls from Dad's Doctor. Again, issues of communication, trust and responsibility. Communication with Irma was poor. Trust issues are poor. The folks at ManorCare told us that Advacare will be taken off their list of Board & Care Homes.
