There is such a homey and pleasant atmosphere at Brookdale. The residents at Brookdale do not "have to" to get up in the morning if they do not want to. My husband is one of those that does not always want to get up very early in the morning. The residents get up whenever they are ready and breakfast is always available whenever they are ready to eat. The staff is tremendous! They treat all the residents with the utmost respect. The entire staff always greats the residents and visitors with a big smile! I feel that my husband is in very good hands at Brookdale!

I would have appreciated a printed out list of staff contact numbers. Instead of having to hunt those down or call the front desk. It is very clean. most the staff is friendly, a few are grumpy. care is good. Mom has dementia and tells me they don't answer her call button. I take that with a grain of salt. I highly doubt they enjoy the call button prompts. The staff is responsive. The food is a 5! Very good and a variety. Kudos to the chef and staff. I feel value is comparable and a firm believer you get what you pay for. We pay a fair amount and feel we satisfied.

All the above are 5 Brookdale was a great facility. We knew she was being taken care of and based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

They are wonderful at Brookdale Bowling Green! The staff is like your own family. They treat the residents as if they are part of their family. The place is bright and clean, always. The residents are kept clean and changed frequently. They will try alternative therapies for behavior issues. The food is good. They have daily snacks every afternoon. Some times the clients make the snacks. I would highly recommend this facility.

We have been very pleased with our experience with the community. The staff communication has been awesome. They will call anytime there is a change in our loved one. They are also available to answer our questions. There are three meals a day and they are choices for the residents to choose from. We have had the opportunity to eat the food and the food is good. They are willing to assist the residents with their food requests. They have even allowed my loved one to bring their own cereal with them for breakfast. The staff are good at encouraging the residents to dine in the dining room for socialization; however, if the resident isn't feeling well they will deliver the food to the resident's room. There is always something for the residents to participate in for activities. There is exercise classes and outings to name a few activities available.

I haves lived at Brookdale Bowling Green for several years. Nothing is perfect but the people here take care of things quickly. The best part of this place is the staff that work here. If I can’t be home this is the best place to be.

Had to clean the bathrooms myself the toilets everything, clean the room and everything . The staff did not clean as they were supposed to. The waste basket would be completely full daily and they would not take it out. Vacuum was never ran the whole time he was there, I dusted and did daily cleaning as they would not. The same with medication, he said when we were out for lunch one day his legs hurt and they were swollen. They were not given him the medications on his list, the director was not compliant with his list and they were not giving it to him. Overall was an absolute horrible experience. I ended up pulling him out a few days earlier. There were several other families in there complaining about similar issues. Especially the food, it was an awful experience all around. When he first got there the the aides were the only part of staff he could speak with. The aides were great at the very beginning but by the short time he left they were down to one Medical aid. The head nurse was very unprofessional and not caring. Very upsetting and disturbing with the way the care or lack of care and direction they provided. Would not recommend that anyone or their loved one's be placed here. It was such a terrible experience, do not recommend what so ever.

While our loved one was there we had a great experience. The community was clean - we were satisfied with that. The staff members were super friendly and had great communication with our family. Our loved one said they were pleased with the meals and dining service and we were surprised they participated in the activities so we assume they had to be good. From what we could tell the value for the money was good compared to other communities in the area

Please do not send your family to this slaughterhouse. They seem to have forgotten what assisted living is the care here is horrible. The patient assistance there are terrible the staff taunt and tease people who are paying thousands of dollars to be there each month.... being taunted and teased let that sink in somebody who's paying thousands of dollars for help and to be treated with dignity and respect is instead being taunted and teased They would rather see people rot away then get them help when they need it. Patients are left in their rooms in some cases and there is little to no attempt to feed them. All of these things I've said are fact and in fact heard on my scanner that the police had to be called there because a person needed help and the administration was refusing to send them somewhere else to get the care that they needed. so they essentially were forced to get that person help.. your job is to care for these people and help them out not watch them rot and die.

Based on our relatively short stay, we did not have a good experience. It could have been just my loved one's particular situation. Maybe she had higher care needs than assisted living in general could provide for. It was maybe the wrong place for her and not necessarily a bad place. We ended up having to take her to the hospital for dehydration. We were just really concerned that she wasn't getting the care she needed since she didn't have the mental faculties to think for herself and go get a drink. Our interactions with the staff were very pleasant and nice. The facility was clean. But we felt she was isolated. There may have been activities going on, but we didn't know about them if there were.

This community was very nice it just was not the right fit for my father-in-law. The community was too big and I thought he would get lost and not get back to the room. The people were very nice.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Bowling Green 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
