All areas seem to perform their duties as expected. As far as cost, no I would not recommend this facility. But most of them were there for the patients.

I loved the apartment, the meals - although the first 24 hrs the meal delivery was problematic. My experience with my sister was precarious because she wasn't 100% committed & the staff checking to see if she was wet (pee) in the middle of the night & overwhelming attention in the first 24 hrs was nerve-wracking fir her; although everyone meant well.

The people that help my mother seem great. Very personable. I've gotten to know several people and they are very attentive and handle mom with care. She is looking forward to the outings. Her room is very large and allows lots of her personal furniture and items with more than enough room to move around.

Find out if you have one person as a contact person for your loved one. In the case of discovery, there are medical staff, physical therapy and occupational therapy vendors, the aids that are direct caregivers for your loved one, and the administration. There were more layers Through which to communicate then I had expected. It's not a bad thing, but it would've been helpful to have known this information ahead of time.

We've had some difficulties - loss of clothes, handy work not done as promised, among other things. And they haven't really cared about it. But they do a good job reporting to me on my loved one's medical condition.

I am disappointed with the help. They are there for a job, but no personal interest whatsoever. Discovery Village is a very nice facility, my loved ones apartment is very very adequate. Some of their activities include the regular bingo, bean bag toss, cinema movies, and some arts & crafts. The food is very good, there's a variety and it's very good. I think A Place for Mom is a wonderful thing and it was most helpful for me, as far as making appointments and guiding me through the whole process. I'm very satisfied and I would recommend A Place for Mom to others.

I think it's a wonderful place. They've just refurbished it, and my sense is that the company is really invested in the property. It's a great layout. And I've been impressed with the level of attention to detail from the staff on all levels. They offer a good selection of food. They have a lot of activities if you choose to participate. I think it's a great value compared to everything else we saw. And they were able to work with us on the cost.

My husband and I at home in our assisted living facility. Our dining room companions have become our family as we share news, laughter, and concerns. We look out for each other on a daily basis. The staff is friendly and caring, starting with our fabulous Director to our cleaning crew. There are some glitches, but overall we feel safe and secure here.

Discovery Village at the Forum was amazing. I really thought that this would be where my parents would end up going. Unfortunately they didn't have the unit set-up for my parents' very specific special needs. And the shower wasn't accessible for my mom. But otherwise we would have liked for them to end up here.

Our tour with Discovery Village was good and the people who showed us around were great. It came down to the fact that they did not have the type of room layout that she wanted.

If you don't use the medical care, you are still charged the fee. The community has a homey and seems to be a safe place to be. It seems to be well run. [name removed] is at the helm at the assisted living community. She seems to be doing a fine job. It seems everything works together.

The management and nursing staff have done a 180 over the past month. They are extremely rude and mean to the residents, and their visiting family and friends.

My mother-in-law, [name removed], was a resident of Discovery. While she was angry with us at first for placing her there, she actually came to think of it as "home", and truly liked her nurse and attendants. The facility, the activities, and the friendly, attentive staff made her stay there a very positive experience. [name removed], the Senior Lifestyle Counselor was very knowledgeable and helpful to us in choosing the best placement for [name removed]. [name removed] and [name removed] were truly caring and helpful with any day to day questions or concerns we had. They were very warm and understanding, as well as professional. I highly recommend Discovery Village at the Forum Assisted Living to anyone who is finding caring for their loved on at home too difficult.

This facility is worthy of approval. The physical layout allows for light and fresh air. There is no shut-in feeling. The rooms are comfortable and accommodating. The staff is caring and allows for each residents individuality. Family members are encouraged to spend as much time as they can. What I have noticed is the family members that do visit are all inclusive and spread their warmth to all they meet.
