A good fit if you don't need a lot of extra care.
I ended up having to hire an outside service as my friend's needs were greater than expected. The staff bickered so much with my sitter service and caused me more stress that I moved her to another facility. If you don't need much "assisted" living, the facility is really good.

The staff was friendly, they were in a state of literally changing the entire staff when dad arrived. The food was always good and plenty of it... The activities were lacking in the beginning but improved over time with the new staff. Cleanliness is always a challenge I think, but we felt as if there was never enough staff to adequately handle the needs. There was a true heartfelt care from most of the caregivers and staff, they were just overwhelmed by the amount of work and lack of enough help I think.

All categories are a "5" rating. Our experience was great. My interactions and guidance from "A Place for Mom" was valuable and exceptional, as well. Haven't seen your ads on TV lately. Same as i put on top. Tour went well all questions answered decided that it would be a good place for him to get the care he needs. If more care is needed they will move him up a care level liked how they worked their care program. If help is needed he has avpin on his neck and they will come within 5-10 min.

My mothers clothing they told me, got misplaced for one thing. I instructed a case worker there to order clothing for her ASAP. Twice I called and never heard back from this person. So they told me they put used clothing on her. She wasn't dressed properly and I am in another state. I also wanted a TV for her in her room and they first said they didn't come with TV's, then she did get one. The hospice nurse told me she saw loads of people standing around on their cell phones not doing a darn thing. I was totally disgusted. I'm glad my mom was only there a little over a month. It was the hospice folks that did a great job. I know these facilities staff probably changes frequently. This was the last month of 2023 through January 2024.

By the time my friend moved in, her condition had deteriorated to the point of needing a long-term care facility. I hired round-the-clock caregivers, who were very good with my friend, but the caregivers at the facility didn't work well with them. Petty arguments were dumped in my lap which made the stress of the move even worse. After two weeks, I moved my friend to a long-term care facility. No one's fault, just poor timing with her health declining so fast. Under better circumstances, Harbor Chase would have been great. She was able to take her cat, which was very important to her. The one bedroom apartment was very adequate with plenty of storage.

My parents have been at Harbor Chase for many months now. The staff have been very helpful and friendly. Their assistant sales counselor is so sweet and knowledgeable. My parents are in a nice sized one bedroom. The dining room is bright and staff very friendly. They have a special every evening for dinner but you can order off the menu. They have quite a lot of activities going on and celebrate things monthly.

I loved the uplifting, welcoming and warm spirit of the team we worked with and the upscale facilities. I would put a love one there. Reminded me of [community removed] here in Kennett Square pa where I had my mother for 13 years. They are efficient and helpful. Given we live in another state i had to trust the facility and checks proved they were doing a good job.

My mother went in this facility walking, and came out in a wheelchair. They talk a nice talk and hit all the bells and whistles, but my mom was filthy, her clothes were filthy and I caught her eating off the floor. She ended up in a hospital because she was severely dehydrated.

Don't let the entry, dining area and rooms be the *only* selling point. While they are nice and comparably fairly priced, none of it does you any good when they are understaffed, the food is mediocre at best, and the rooms don't get cleaned properly. It has been a year, but in retrospect, it just felt like the right hand absolutely did not know what the left hand was doing. Hopefully, it has improved since then.

What our family likes the most about HarborChase of Villages Crossing is the overall atmosphere ,environment and the food that is served for the residents. My dad loved the food and the outside areas. My mom loved the food and the Friday movies.

My overall experience has been positive. There has been large turnover in staff which leads to some feeling of instability. That said I have always found staff responsive to my concerns.
