Lots of positive changes happening

I am happy with the current changes that have been made. Staff and residents are happy, lots of activities going on. Very clean, seems like they have more staff than other facilities I have visited. My loved one will be staying here long term, and she is happy to have a home she feels safe in.

Needs to close down

We’ve recently taken my grandma out of this place. It’s terrible. The staff does not care for the patients. My grandma left there dehydrated, malnourished and full of bed sores. While visiting with her we witnessed a patient fall. But we forewarned the nurse that he was leaning. And they did nothing. This place is horrible and should be closed down. I’m glad we were able to get my grandma out in time. I pray for those still left there.

An honest review

I'm unable to rate anything above terrible. The level of service, the competency of the staff, the number of staff on duty at any given time, the cleanliness of the building and hallways (often smell of urine), are all so inconsistent you cant count on anything good being done twice. Left hand doesnt know and pretty much doesn't care what right hand is doing. stna is a fancy title with no significance; may as well have joe blow hired off the street. Nurse turnover is constant. Food is unappealing and lukewarm at best. Food quality is very low. Unquestionably "institutional" food. Mealtime is whenever they get to it; can't count on food being served at the same time from day to day. day 1 dinner at 5pm, day 2 dinner at 6:30pm, day 3 at 5:45 and so on. Some staff are dedicated to providing compassionate and knowledgeable care, but usually get so burned out and exasperated by others who are doing bare minimum that they move on to somewhere else. Corporate for-profit environment ensures the most minimal care, limited supplies, low quality food & service. Air conditioning has broken down the last 2 summers for lengthy periods of time. Continuously accept new residents without regard for enough staff to care for them. Number of staff on duty listed on posting in lobby is always well beyond the number actually on duty at any given time. Bed sores and urinary tract infections are rampant. Good luck. Don't believe the dog & pony show when you go for the tour.

Should be called low point

The absolute worst place you can send a loved one to. The director of rehab was rude, made fun of patients at their expense. She did not act very professional. Would anybody want this for their family? I do not think so. Even worse the cota that was rehabing my mother was just as worse. She was yelling at her and forcing her to do tasks that she did not feel like she was capable at the time . The cota exemplified no signs of empathy toward my mother. I have filed complaints against this facility and can only hope it changes their management and therapy team.

This was my first experience in a Nursing facility. The Director of Business Development and Admissions Director were so extremely welcoming and helpful to me and my family. I felt so comfortable about making the decision to place my family member at Highland Pointe and knew that the care and therapy was top of the line with the ladies daily follow up with any questions we had. Amazing ladies, Amazing facility.

Nice tour

This was a nice tour, I was looking for my wife and I felt the staff did a nice tour, they took their time and showed me around and they answered all my questions. I was not sure my wife needed this much care and I did find a different community that was closer to me that I thought would be a better fit.
