Friendly, committed, accommodating staff

Our overall experience was a 4. However, my father-in-law's stay there was quite short. Our rating is mostly based on our staff interaction, as we were not exposed much to activities, dining, etc. They worked hard with us to receive him quickly, and the communication was always timely. When he left, they refunded us without any difficulty.

Friendly, Caring Staff

Overall it has been a great fit for my mother-in-law. It is affordable, she is very pleased with the meals, the facility is well kept, lots of opportunities for socialization & the bus for medical & shopping makes this place a wonderful choice for someone that doesn't have a large budget.

Very good

I would recommend "Ormond In The Pines" for your consideration. We checked four other communities before we selected "Ormond In The Pines". Our selection was influenced with the fact this facility is a shelter in place Facility. No evacuations and able to keep your pets with you!

I'd go 5 all the way. We were at another place before here and weren't happy It's a little high but it's worth it.... good residents great staff. It's a nice place if you're not going to be in your one home. Yes yes yes I would recommend this community to other families.

okay place if you do not need assistance

Mother lived here. Old and run down interiors. Paint does not improve the issues. Cleaning is not performed well for the elderly. Filthy interiors and bugs through out. Okay if you do not need assistance. Those who need assistance are moved to the 3rd floor, over medicated, and charged high fees for assistance by aides, not nurses. Help buttons are not checked on a regular basis. Mother called for help, nobody responded. she had to crawl on the floor and sustained skin tears and admitted to hospital/hospice for horrific trauma. Nothing was done by the facility.

In my experience I would recommend OITP. Just don't believe all that you hear.

Some of the staff I enjoyed and liked them immensely. The third floor nursing staff tend to be bossy, overbearing and down right rude and mean sometimes. I was independent so I needed no care. What I saw and bothered and worried me the most was; residents coming into independent living that should have never been designated as independent. IE: Alzheimer's or dementia patients were abandoned by their families with no services in place for them to survive. Sometimes the food was great; sometimes merely edible; and sometimes down right disgusting. The worst thing was blaming the "supply chain" when they ran out of some basic staples. Or prices were going up and they had a strict budget I found the activities and entertainment repetitive and boring mostly. Value for Cost - this is what I'm giving the worst score. If I could go into negative #'s: that would be it.. Since living here I have found management will tell you ANYTHING you want to hear ( and yes flat out lie) and then prices go up and up and quality goes down. Their whole focus is to get as much money as they can; while they can.

Review for Ormond In The Pines

I would, and have, told many people that Holiday Ormond In The Pines is a really good place to live and prosper in the twilight years of life. You will make many new friends and there are many different activities to be involved in. And many of the residents actually run some of the activities. And I surely can't forget the wonderful staff who are there and keep everything operating very smoothly. BTW...the staff will also be included in your new circle of friends.

Wonderful Community

I am going to give Ormond In The Pines a "5" on each category. [name removed]and his team run a clean, welcoming and compassionate facility. There are plenty of activities, both internal and external, for everyone and Mom enjoys the meals there. Any apartment issues are taken care of quickly and efficiently. I have recommended them to several people in my community looking for a place for their parents.

The staff and managers at Holiday Ormond In The Pines are wonderful. My parents have plenty to do and they feel supported. The van has gotten them to most of their appointments. The meal quality is not wonderful, but there are options and plenty to eat. Communication with the family is stellar. I would recommend the facility to others.

Friendly Caring staff

Overall experience is a 5 because we feel safe and complex has a community atmosphere . The cleanliness is a 4 due to dull grey hallways paint and dirty carpet in hallways. The staff are always a smile and hellos. The care services is a 5 besides the staff is caring and Director of Nursing involve family on a regular basis. The meals and dining is a 4 due to lack of condiments and use of styrofoam bowls and at times plastic utensils. Especially in 3rd floor dining room for Assisted Living residents. Feel overlooked. Heard complaints from residents.. There are always something going onsite or excursions for the mobile resident. The value for cost is a 4 because our rates went up and anxious about new management company buyout concerns. May have to move again after Mom feeling settled. Her dementia is progressive.

Absolutely Recommended

The staff (all of them) know your family member by name. They are not a number. Housekeeping is consistent and it's obvious when the clean. The care team is easy to communicate with and knows what's happening with your family member. The care is consistent throughout the team, which amazes me. I'm told this is due to the strict training that they all receive. I absolutely recommend Holiday Ormond in the Pines. My mother is there now and they are a God-send to me. My husband and I would live there when we reach that time of needed extra eyes and availability of 24-7 assistance.

Happy daughter

I would highly recommend Ormond in the Pines. My mother has now been here for over a year and they have been great. [Name removed] the Director is very good and guiding new residents and their families through the process of adjusting. The front desk ladies, [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] are very great with helping with organizing rides from the bus to doctors appts, shopping etc. ([Name removed] the driver is also extremely helpful). The facility has activities ranging from music, to outings to bingo, and games as well as other fun things and even exercise classes!

Overall an excellent facility, well run, good food, thoughtful staff.

Ormand in the Pines exceeds expectations, unlike [name removed] faculty in moved out of the food here has good choices, is properly prepared and served hot. The staff is excellent, there is a lot to do. The place is well maintained and kept clean. There are two good sized elevators that work rather than one, small, 5’X7’ elevator that previous place took 2 1/2 months to fix.

Peace of mind

I live in Alexandria, [name removed] and my mother is the resident so my time actually in the facility is limited. Having said that, I rate them as 5 across the board. The facility is older but clean and quiet. The staff have always been helpful to me throughout the process of acquiring a room and getting my mother moved in. My mother has yet to voice any complaints after almost 6 months as a resident. Her particular room does not have washer/dryer hookups so that would be her only issue but we knew that when taking the room. As far as value for the money, the same services here in Northern Virginia are about double the cost. No complaints to date. When you are physically separated from your parent, when they are aged and live alone there is a constant magging worry...should she still be driving, is she eating well, taking prescribed medications daily, interacting with others instead of watching NCIS episodes at jet engine decibel levels (I'm sure you get that one...you can substitute Law and Order for NCIS). Knowing there is a caring staff, a clean facility, activities to partake in, etc., eases the worry. I now know if she needs assistance she will get it immediately by people that have her best interest at heart.
