Alarming i

Less than a minute, I was overwhelmed by tears and heartbreak. I immediately told my ill son that even though he was just transported there less than 30 minutes, we would immediately get him out. There’s urine and feces smells filling the air. My son was in a dirty room with a roommate who needed attention. There were no railings attached to the bed to protect my fall risk son from falling. Also, there’s no button to push to alert the nurse. He has seizures and recently had a stroke. The facility boasts of 152 bed capacity, but is medically understaffed. Some patients sat in the hallway while others stayed in small, dingy, uncleaned rooms. We took our loved one back to the hospital so that we could restart the process by selecting, touring and then placement. You must see and tour the facility before agreeing to allow your love one to be in such a substandard place. My son is out, but I’m haunted by the fact that others remain there. The staff seems genuine, but deserve better.
