Pleasant

The ratio of aides to patients is 7 patients to 1 aide. But the Aides help each other. Very caring facility. They are currently looking for a new activity person, so right now activities are very limited. They do arrange for outside entertainment like a young 8th grader came with his mom , and he played the piano for everyone. That was very nice.

Stay away! Find a mom and pop place!

The country home was awful. original admin, constantly accused of bills not paid, but yet never applied my payments to their billing program “ZUNTA.” admin also, She broke hippa laws, and well as breaching contract, Also tried to offer me a room for above any rate listed on contract or website. Owners, fired her, and promised a letter to clear my name of her accusation which owner never did. They hired a new admin and her biz cards says RN, CALA. After researching the state website, she’s not an RN! It’s sad bc the grounds are beautiful for dementia patients, the aides and some employees are absolutely wonderful. Save your loved one’s life, don’t move them into this place until there’s new owners and a much better administrator staff. Med tech told me 1 wk b4 mom died she was too medicated, and needed meds reduced. My mom died 1 week later/ sepsis & organ failure.

Watch your invoices and read your contract

Been there since [date removed]. I love the sides, but the previous admin, [name removed] was a complete hot mess! (She should really be checked out by a psychiatric dr herself!). anyways, she broke contract - she made false accusations against me, and the care I do for my mother, she threatened me to my private aide company- and tried changing my room rates. Check your contract! Watch your prices! Sketchy business, but great grounds for lost dementia patient. Love the aides there!

A Home for Memory Care

My sister and I looked at several different memory care facilities for my mom before coming to The Country Home. The difference in this facility was immediately obvious -- it felt like a home, the residents were cheerful, the staff were embedded with the residents and engaged, and there was no smell of urine. My mother was only at The Country Home for a month, but I can honestly say that it was the happiest month she had experienced in a long, long time. I credit the administrators of the home with this difference. The staff are all kind and caring, without exception, and I think this is a result of careful selection and training. There is a daily schedule that includes showers, meals, and activities. An atmosphere of cheerful calm is the norm, I would say from my visits to the facility. I cannot say enough about the kindness and respect with which my mom and my sisters and I were treated. The Country Home is private pay, which may be a drawback for some.

Great, caring and knowledgeable staff, truly advocate for resident and family

Staff is friendly and caring. They get to know each resident's personality, and their individual needs and likes/enjoyment. They are attentive, and caring. They always include responsible family members in all care decisions; advocating only for the true well-being of the resident. They are always desirous to help family have happy visits, and are attentive to the ensuring the joy of all in the visits. I can only say that having a family member there is only a true blessing. All of this, and it's actually reasonably priced as well! I highly recommend them.

Three month experience

My loved one has been a resident at The Country Home for three months and the experience has been okay so far. The staff is friendly and nice, they have some longevity. The move in process was fine. The food can be good, but the portions are small. The housekeeping is good. There have been a few miscommunications, especially at night/on the weekends but nothing serious. The facility is conveniently located and I think there is value for the money.

Used to be a nice place

Please be careful and do a lot of research before you place a loved one here. The website has not been updated in years, the staff they have listed no longer works there except for one. The previous director was a major asset to Country Home and he retired and moved out of state several years ago. Be very cautious the current staff is not caring most of the staff left after [name removed]retired because the new management is running this place into the ground. Before my father passed we had plans of relocating him, we would spend more time there because we lost faith. There response to his care in his last few weeks was not acceptable. The staff is told when tours are happening, this is not daily life there. The level of memory care is that the doors are locked. There was not one RN on staff and the care is more custodial. I’ve seen reviews by there own staff, one of the profile pictures in a review was an old staff member who was fired and the name was different. Do your research!!

Gave My Mom a New Lease on Life

My mom has been at the Country Home for several years. The staff at the Country Home (and the other residents) have given my mom a new lease on life. When she entered the CH, her every day was a living nightmare. She woke up every day upset, anxious, and suffering from delusions that her (deceased) parents were in trouble and needed help or that my (deceased) father was holding her captive. For the first month or so, she suffered from similar delusions, but with the dedicated help of the staff at the Country Home, she slowing but surely became happy again. She became part of the community at the Country Home. She made friends and the caring staff helped her to find joy in her life. She still suffers from dementia. She still has delusions that lead her to believe things that are not true. However now, on most days, the delusions are about good things like her parents being alive and her wanting to throw an anniversary party for them. On the days when the delusions are bad, the staff

surprised about bad review

I was lucky to have found The Country Home, I visit my mom daily, the staff is constantly cleaning, new kitchen installed, residents are constantly doing some kind of activity, Not one resident is in their room, and music throughout rooms. I have been upstairs and yes they are further along in their disease process, they are entertained with dolls and interactive animals, blocks and interactive mats. I am very happy that my mother is loved and cared for at the Country Home I am at peace and know my decision was a good one.

No longer a nice place

The Country Home use to provide a nice clean home like atmosphere when my father-in-law lived there. But as soon as new management took over, everything changed for the worse. From the food, to activities, the care, the level of cleanliness and the staff. It is not a memory care facility, it has a few lock doors with keypads. I have never been on the second floor but I hear the residents basically sit at two tables from one end of the day to the next with no stimulation at all. One of the nurses said most of the time she is the only one watching all of the patients. I have noticed most of the old staff has left. I can absolutely NOT recommend this place anymore!!

A Place for Mom has scored The Country Home 8.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
