Friendly facility

From the first time we went and looked at the place we noticed how clean and how nice it smelled, not like urine like most nursing homes smell like. They are super nice and very friendly and helpful.

The Oasis of Dumas Assisted Living

The Oasis at Dumas provides assisted living to seniors who want to retain their quality of life while receiving the help they need. Dumas, Arkansas, is a small town in the green southeast corner of the state. The Arkansas River and a wildlife refuge sit nearby, bringing with them many outdoor activities like fishing and birdwatching. This is an ideal spot for families and seniors looking for a close-knit community in a quiet country setting.

The private apartments at the large, ranch-style facility have modern amenities and comforts, and the entire building is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The front opens onto a wide lawn that looks out onto a green space with a gravel road. Shopping options are mostly found in Pine Bluff, about an hour away, although Dumas has plenty of local boutique options.

Residents are well taken care of by the administrators, registered nurses, and dietary managers on staff. Administrators make sure every day is full of engaging activities designed to keep seniors mentally sharp and socially fulfilled. Often, these include community members bringing arts and crafts supplies or local churches bringing picnic food. Staff members regularly lead fitness activities in the afternoon and plan themed dinner parties to...

I am always pleased to see how clean it is. Those that work there are so kind to my sister and our family.

If I had to choose an Assisted Living facility for myself, this would definitely be the one

The Oasis of Dumas Assisted Living is a nice facility. From the first time that we walked in, we knew that this was going to be a very good place. The Executive Director, [name removed], even came in on her day off to give us the tour. The staff was/is very accommodating and talked to us about our needs and wants. They gave us a tour of the place and even showed us some of the other residents' rooms. They let us look at the kitchen and see how they prepared the meals. They try to give it a family atmosphere by having everyone come to the dining room and eat together. The housekeeping is awesome, the place smells like a house, not the urine smells of a nursing home, or the hospital type smells like you might find. Plus the residents supply their own furniture so they can feel more at home. They even let pets in if you have them. They have laundry service and everyone's laundry is done separate from the others, so no mix ups or lost clothes. Overall, I would recommend The Oasis of Dumas Assisted Living to others.
