Brookdale Galleria a wonderful place to call home.

All 5's. Excellent property and management. The Management and all the staffing team are professional, knowledgeable and very quick to respond. The security check in and out is very comforting. They know who is visiting who. The Activity Staff is amazing. There is "something" fun or interesting to do throughout the day and early evenings. Much like a resort schedule. They make everyone feel like family. The food is amazing with a wide variety of options as well as the "specials" of the day. The food and beverage director has open meetings once a month for residents to discuss menu enhancements. It is extremely well run and the perfect place for my mom.

Very happy with our choice!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Considerate and caring. Apartment sizes and amenities offered are great! The cleanliness though could be better.

Acceptable, But Not Exceptional

My Dad went to the Brookdale Galleria rehab center for [time frame removed] after a fall and blood clots. He was unable to get around on his own. They were very caring and helpful. I decided to move him to their apartments. The team was nice and helpful however my Dad was not ready to live on his own. He could not get out of bed to go to the restroom and helpful really needed a 24/7 facility. I ended up moving him after 2 weeks to a full care facility. I also did not like that the extra services were very expensive in the apartment side. Things like getting his meals, changing his sheets. I feel like the stuff tried to help but independent living was not the right move for my Dad. He went to a private facility for [time frame removed] and unfortunately passed away in October due to congestive heart failure/Parkinson's

Overall recommend

Our situation has gone from stressful to restful thanks to Brookdale. My mom and stepdad had reached a point that staying in their own home became too much for them. He has ALS and she is older than him. The house was too much for her to take care of while caring for him. After visiting several places, they decided that Brookdale Galleria was the place to go. They choose the independent living side of the community. The staff are always there to help in any way that they can. Mom has had a few issues in the room of her own making and when they reached out to staff, they came and helped. An example of that was she was about to wash some dishes, and her husband needed her real quick. She didn't turn the water off and by the time she got back the room was flooded. She called down and asked for some help and they came up really quick with a shop vac and vacuumed up all the water and mopped the floor for her. They enjoy going to the restaurant style eating room and having lunch and dinner. They have met many people there and have lots of different dinner partners. The food is good and the staff is attentive. There is valet parking for free for everyone, which comes in handy every time I visit. I would recommend Brookdale to anyone looking for a nice friendly place for their parents.

Review for Brookdale Galleria

It's expensive for sure. The staff and food quality have gone down in recent months. The nursing supervisors in the assisted living area are very good and responsive. There is a lot of turnover in aides however.

The best experience!

The staff and people are all so kind and caring. It is like being a part of a loving family! Darcy was so helpful and sweet during the moving process and she found my parents the perfect apartment. They are all so accommodating. The maintenance services are great and very helpful. The front desk people always greet us with a smile. The valet guys are the best! They always help my mom into the car (she is wheelchair bound). I am so happy that we selected Brookdale!

Dissapointing and unsafe!

I would give 0 stars if possible. Failed on every aspect of care. Waited for several hours when i needed assistance to go to the bathroom. Went for several days without a shower and they were snooty when asked for help. Rehab was also very suboptimal-not focused on individual need but involved only group exercises. Discharge was also unsafe. I couldn't stand yet but was discharged home with no sfae discharge plan to get me help at home. The staff is uncaring and heartless with no compassion for the vulnerable. Beware!!

I toured this community and it was nice. It's a renovated building and seems very upscale. The layout wasn't ideal for me and my needs.

Stressful Decision Made Easy

My family member loves it there so far. The staff are very attentive. In your search, I recommend looking at the length of time that the employees have been there. At Brookdale Galleria, they have a lot of 10-plus year employees. They seem happy and seem to want to be there, and they do a good job.. The apartment is cute. She has two patios, one off the kitchen and one off the bedroom. Currently they have a mix of renovated and nonrenovated apartments, so you can choose depending on your preference. They also have a dedicated, fenced-in dog walking area.

Tour experience

Brookdale Galleria was a nice facility that was recently remodeled. It is a high rise and was a little more expensive. It is in a concrete area and did not feel as safe as it is downtown. If you are used to condominium living I think it would be a great fit but it just was not what my loved one was looking for. The people were all great, it was like the property that was not a good fit.

The good, the bad and the ugly

The good: valet staff are great. [name removed] in Reception is outstanding. Food is very good. Nurses aides during the day are wonderful. The PT & OT teams are top notch. The bad: If your loved one needs any health care stay away. Some nurses are great but the night &wkend staff are lazy. They dont follow written drs or hospital staff directions that are communicated via phone, in person & in writing, the medical staff does not communicate with family & nurses & administrative lie continually. Any medical issue or emergency takes forever to be addressed & dont notify family. The ugly:You cant trust a word that comes out of skilled nursing & admin staff mouths. They take zero responsibility & seem offput if you request the minimum of care. Most family's don't want to pay [amount removed] per month only to have loved one ignored . Things are rarely done unless you go higher up. It is exhausting. Higher ups say they take these things seriously but look at other reviews on the web...same issues for years.

Only one floor of assisted living and no memory care. [Name removed] would not like being in a setting that looks like apartments and would never leave her door open to visit with neighbors. She is a very private person. The view from the room offered was not nice.

Terrible care

My mom was just discharged from the skilled nursing facility. The care is terrible and uncoordinated. My mother developed a blood clot post surgery and they did NOTHING for 2 weeks, despite my questions. The nurses, doctors and physical therapy staff do not coordinate care and point the finger at each other. They made medication errors on more than one occasion. Some of the nurses are good, but most just treat it as an income source and simply dont care about patients' recovery at all. So happy to get her out of this place!

The staff were nice but the building was old and tired. The biggest issue is the location both from accessibility and freeway NOISE. Cannot see how this would work for us.

Very Nice, but Too Fancy

We toured at Brookdale while looking for a new place for my loved one. This community is very nice, and they have a great sales team. However, for my loved one, the community was too fancy. She just did not feel it would be the best fit for her.

A tour for care

We toured this community. We like the staff and the community. The menu was appealing and they do offer a nice list of activities. We would recommend that families tour this community for the care of a loved one. This community is not in the area of where we wanted to locate, but it is very nice.

Treating Me Like A Queen, Very Nice Place

I'am really enjoying my time here at this community, it is a really nice facility. My husband, and I moved in here together. Unfortunately he has since passed, but the hospice care did a great caring for him, and his needs. I'am pleased with all they have done for us. They are treating me like a queen. everyone is very kind. The only issue I have, is that the dining service is a little slow. Other than that issue, this is a community I would recommend.
