always smiles & helpful. they always find me for my meds. The nurse is very helpful & follows up. dinner time is too early for me by ~ 2 hrs. Lunch is my only meal and is fine but I make a snack in the evening. My wife and I had a special menu we followed but that would be VERY DIFFICULT for the kitchen to follow, so I would have to cook all my own meals. At least the menu gives choices. Once in a while I fix my own meal to follow my preferences. The staff at meals are excellent.

Our loved ones hallway area smelled of urine. Pup next door. Maybe human or dog. I complained frequently. The salad bar is great!! The care staff were great and responsive to my mom 5

If you are looking for a community for a family member who doesn't want the feel of a facility, this is the community! It has such a great feel from the moment you walk in... everyone is warm and welcoming. It feels like an apartment building, with all the amenities! I have been to several Brookdale communities, and they were all very reasonably priced. It seems that you can be independent living here, or someone who needs assistance. They do have 24/7 caregiving and nurses on staff. If you are looking at options, this is a hidden gem in Uptown Whittier.

Brookdale Uptown Whittier delivers in all areas of amenities and services. Unexpectedly but most welcoming is that it has become an extended family for both [name removed] and me. The staff, the residents and even 3rd party caregivers CARE for each other. From the bottom of our hearts- Thank you!

The staff was very supportive and encouraging when we first met. After applying, my relative was able to move in very quickly. But we had to remind them of several things that needed fixing. I think they need more help. When I accidentally pushed the button for assistance, someone came quickly. But later when my relative needed help and pushed the call button on her pendant, it was a long wait before someone came. I think this is a good place for independent senior living. It is beautiful, clean, peaceful and orderly. Be aware of the cost. There is a basic fee, but with every extra service there is an added fee. It could cost a lot more than you thought at first

Brookdale Uptown Whittier is a great place, I actually liked it the most. It is in a great location next to restaurants and shopping. The downfall for us was that it is a much larger facility than the one in Central Whittier. The rooms were far away from the dining room. My loved one uses a walker and I just thought it would be harder to get around.

We have had no complaints so far and we have been very satisfied with the experinece. The staff are extremely easy to work with and have made things go smoothly. The room sizes are more than adequate for our needs. I would recommend Brookdale Uptown Whittier others.

Our first impression of Brookdale Uptown Whittier was great. From the minute we walked in I paid attention and all the residents looked content and happy, the staff were super friendly, and the prices were very reasonable compared to some of the other places we looked into. There are tons of activities provided, for example they have happy hours on Wednesday which my mom loves; someone comes in and plays an instrument and takes requests. They have arts and crafts classes and they display what they make in the front for everyone to see. They have matinee and movie nights as well. I would absolutely recommend Brookdale to others looking.

We've been very satisfied with them. They come in several times a day to check on my loved ones and are very attentive. My mother fell and hit her head, and they were there in a minute or so. They were very quick to respond to an emergency and took care of everything very well. I was impressed with how they handled it. I think they take good care of the residents, and I've been happy with all aspects.

The other residents at Brookdale Uptown seem to be happy there. The rooms are nice, however the food would have to be their weakest point. Our loved ones do not really care for the food. They do seem to be very safety conscious during the pandemic.

Everyone was very friendly and patience with us. Answered all our questions and have offered to help us with anything we need. My grandfather who was not completely on board with this idea is not very much considering doing this.

This is a very reasonably priced facility. The one bedroom apartment that my mom has includes a kitchenette, balcony, great size bedroom with walk-in closet. Her balcony has room for two chairs. I’m very happy with this location. My only suggestion would be to try to get the residents more involved with Activities even if they show no interest. I do recommend Uptown Whittier!

We toured the Brookdale Uptown Whittier. It was a very nice and beautiful community. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about what they would offer. It was beautifully decorated and well-kept. We chose another community that was a better fit for our budget.

My mother was recently at this community for a short respite stay and I have no complaints of how things had went for her. The staff had welcomed her with open arms and made sure to accommodate her needs to the best of there ability. She seemed to enjoy the meals as well as the company of the other residents. It was just not the right fit for us in the end decision.

I am considering to sell my house and come here, that is how good it was. The meals were excellent and the staff were very concerned about you. They had the doctor check on me. A guy had wonderful activities, like exercising in the morning and afternoon. They had a pianist come in to play jazz and classical songs. We had wonderful entertainers and set up very good movies. Most residents were delightful to speak with. The residents love it there and have been there for at least 10 years and staying there.
