A lifesaver for our whole family
They have warm and friendly staff, room is clean and beautiful, atmosphere is cheerful and inviting. Their rates were competitive as well. We are grateful to have found this place for my dad. I would recommend them to others who are currently searching for a place for their loved one.

Gardens at Escondido is a three-story senior living community encompassed by beautifully maintained hedges and charming gardens. Residents have several ways to enjoy some fresh air as the community offers plenty of shaded patio seating in the garden area and rooftop seating that overlooks the enchanted garden space. With independent living, assisted living, and memory care services available, residents can gracefully age in place in Escondido, California.
Situated on the cusp of a residential neighborhood, the area provides access to a shopping center filled with restaurants and retail stores. The area also offers medical facilities, banks, and grocery stores for added convenience. The city of Escondido also offers parks, country clubs, a performing arts center, and more to keep residents entertained.
On-site, residents also have a range of amenities — as the community aims to offer something for everyone to enjoy. At their leisure, residents may take advantage of the courtyard, library, game room, movie theater, worship space, and walking paths. Love the management. [name removed] is a great leader. [name removed] is good at his job as well. Only drawback has been the food, and nursing care. It was my understanding he would have help with bandages etc. [name removed] has told me they are not allowed to help with dressings of any kind. He is at level care 5. Paying for the most assistance at the facility. Sooo that said we are disappointed that it wasn't made clear what care needs they offer. They knew from his assessment that he needed wound care, toileting, showering etc. Overall there is no utopia!

Very nice and friendly staff, seem to care about their residence. Safety is a priority for them, my dad has had a few minor falls and they were quick and effective responding. Slightly older population, so maybe better for those 70-75+ rather than younger socially speaking

Well established facility, located near motels, fast food and fire department. Friendly and helpful staff. Once they finish their remodeling the place will be very nice. Beautiful outdoor areas. Rooms have decent storage.

This is a lovely and welcoming community. Although they were going through a renovation at the time of my visit, one could still see a warm and clean community, well maintained and nicely decorated to make the seniors feel comfortable. The community offers continued care, whenever needed, a variety of activities and events inside and out of the community to help them feel engaged and give them opportunities to socialize. Although there are set times for chef prepared meals, there is always food available if needed. Other amenities include a hair and nail salon, movie theater, library and entertainment. The staff I met during my tour seemed very nice and invested in taking good care of all in need.

This is a great facility. The facility is beautiful and festive for all of the holidays, making it such a happy place to go into. The staff is amazing specifically the director [name removed], who is an angel. We have had nothing but a positive beautiful experience there and would recommend it hands-down to anyone looking for a beautiful safe and caring place for their loved one.

5 on all categories . It's not a great experience necessarily, my mom is pretty much bed ridden and Hospice comes to visit a couple times a week. The caregivers are so nice and responsive. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we had

For the short period of time that my wife stayed there, everything was very satisfactory. The food was nourishing and tasty. The staff was kind and attentive. Her dementia decline was so rapid, that, within a few days of her initial move-in, they recommended that she be under hospice care. Those folks were wonderful. I would recommend this facility to others.

We picked this community, because of the value for the money. It's a good place and price. I have my concerns but I'd recommend it. The staff care. People feel treated well.

Gardens at Escondido according to our loved one feels much more like a homey environment. The communication with the staff has been really good. The staff we have met with and gotten to know on the memory care side we like a lot and they will always call or email us with any kind of updates regarding our loved one. We are happy with the care our loved one is receiving and we would recommend them to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

I put my loved one here and 3 days later they locked down the whole facility due to COVID. A month later they opened up and then right now they are in another lock down and I am not able to visit. I have been extremely disappointed because it seems like a great place, but I have not even really been able to go inside.

It is my pleasure to write this review as I cannot say enough good things about my experience with the staff at The Gardens of Escondido. [name removed] was most gracious and empathetic to my stressful circumstances in finding the best community for my 98-year-old mother. She was always available for questions and always had the answers and provided good direction. [name removed] was the first to meet and she was also most genuine and helpful. [name removed]and [name removed], the entire staff was so very helpful and was so with such aplomb. I highly recommend The Gardens at Escondido. Their professional yet passionate manner is most refreshing. Something you simply do not see any many businesses anymore.

The staff makes her feel really welcome and at home. She constantly says you picked such a good place for me. This was the most affordable place that was the nicest. It was surprising to me how affordable it was. I feel like there is a trade off with the services that are offered. I think they could have more brain engaging activities rather than just having social hours. I feel if she had more types of mental stimulating activities that she would have improved quicker. They recently transitioned to Gardens from Atria and it was not communicated well to the families, I think communication is something that could be improved. The people who interact with her are very sweet. The executive director seems cool and she is trying to run with the new transition. The facility is really small, so if your family member would be overwhelmed by a large facility, this would be a good cozy place for them. There is limited outside space but it is all well cared for. It is immaculately clean and the person who does the maintenance is super sweet.

Coming from a traditional home we were skeptical of using assisted living for my grandmother. But with everyone working and taking care of the children it become harder to make sure her needs were met. Luckily the Gardens have proven very capable of making sure she is comfortable and her needs met. Staff is very kind and patient, haven't had a single complaint and for the price it's worth it. Definitely put my and my family's mind as ease having her here.

Just stopped by to visit my aunt for a bit and I was very impressed by how lively the atmosphere was! All the staff I encountered were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction and seemed happy to help. I thought the place also smelled lovely!
