Review for The Gardens at Creekside

[name removed] was amazing. She worked with us through the whole process. They have things for the residents to do. They have a program that takes the residents to their Doctor appointments or on outings. . They just go out of their way to help the residence and to make sure that they have what they need. This place is for my mom. During this whole process, I was in the state of Washington and my mom is in Kansas. So for me to look for a place for her, they went above and beyond to help me decide if it was something that would fit my mom or not. [name removed] was amazing, she worked with us and helped us out through the whole process. My name is [name removed], I would probably say compassion with a smile. Because whenever I talked with [name removed], or we had our visit in person, she was always kind and always smiling and making you feel very comfortable.

A MIRACLE HAPPENED FOR OUR FAMILY

My sister and brother in law live there...I just found a safe haven for them. I love your facility; (staff, cleanliness, happy tenants, affordable senior housing, services and activities, farmers market, happy hour, trash and recycling, ground zero access, wonderful décor, bright lighting, special meals from Hen House...the landscaping is lovely!

Overall recommend

This is a very good facility for elderly people who don't need any skilled care. For being an independent senior apartment, I though they provided a lot of services including weekly trips to Walmart by bus, rides for residents to other places for a small fee, breakfast provided 5 days per week, weekly games, a weekly social hour. My mother loved that they are pet friendly and she could have her dog with her. For this area, the price is competitive. Any time mom had an issue in the apartment with lights or plumbing, etc., the staff were prompt at jumping in to fix the issue. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. When my mother passed away unexpectedly, they made everything very easy for us and for our out of town guests that came. They even let us use the facility dining room for family meals.

Good place!

This is an over 55 independent living. They do have some activities. But they do not care for you or have food. They have had a few changes of management in the last year, but overall it is a nice place! The complex is very clean, the thing that concerns me was the staff turnover. (Management & front desk help) My mother-in-law seems to be happy there so I should probably say it's probably a 4+ I never give anything the top score available, due to there is nothing that is perfect for everyone! But it is a good place. It's in a great location, my mother-in-law loved walking to the library and to Kohl's. She does take their transportation to Walmart once a week.

A Wonderful Place to call Home!

5 in all categories. She loves it there. Everyone is so friendly. There is a resident who is like an activities director. She's fantastic at having people meet other people of like mind.

Great fit for Mom.

I would give a FIVE on all categories. A Place for Mom went above and beyond what I had hoped for or expected in my search for a home for my Mother. The staff at Gardens at Creekside were very informative. They helped every step of the way. While going through the application process, they let you know what was expected and helped you to complete everything as needed. My mom is in a one bedroom apartment here and it was a good sized place. Not small at all.

Definitely recommend

We chose The Gardens at Creekside because of the affordability as well as they were still offering activities for seniors. The apartment sizes here are comparable compared to others we looked at. I think they are good at updating their facilities both the common areas and the apartments. When he moved in he had new carpet and appliances in his unit. I would definitely recommend them.

My review of the Gardens of Creekside since covid

This review is all during COVID. I chose the gardens because they have a tax credit plan for people who have limited income. I feel like I got a really good deal. The apartment sizes are very nice, I cannot complain. The bedrooms are a little on the smaller side. but the appliances are new and the accommodations are good. The food they serve is ok, but it is pretty repetitive. I do have an issue with the lady above me, she is in a wheelchair and has a walker and it makes a ton of noise, so it has made me so miserable that my blood pressure has gone up and I had to get on medication.

Home at Last!

Peace and happiness at last! When I first moved to the Gardens, I was in a bit of disarray from leaving my home of 42 years but my dear Kitty Boy and I have bonded with each other and our new place. He and I had just started making a new family 3 weeks before I got the call that there was a place for me. Because I am still working I am not able to participate in too many of the activities so I am getting acquainted a bit slowly, but everyone is very friendly and helpful. Love to know that I can look out at the beautiful trees and flowers and not have to trim a one! As I listen to friends talk about having trouble getting their laundry done at a convenient time, I can smile and be grateful that my washer and dryer are right in my room and I am the only user!

I liked this facility. The apartments were nice sizes and the residents were in a facility activity. Only negative is that any extras over and above the apartment must be paid for extra.

Nice facility for independent living. If your loved one needs a little more attention but not quite assisted living, this may not be the site.

Work In Progress For Mom

Mom is still trying to settle in it's a big adjustment for her to go be in a house to an apartment. She is not used to noise so she is trying to adjust to that. The staff is wonderful very welcoming in fact after you have been there for while the welcoming committee comes around to greet you and get to know you. The community offers quite a bit of thing to do but mom is just not there yet. They are supposed to have a beautician on site however since mom has been there they have had issues with keeping one. It is a very friendly mobile environment meaning there are lots of residents in wheelchairs and walker so the property is handicapped friendly.

If you are on a budget and want a very nice facility, this is the place for you. A lot of activities and options for meals and outings. Very nice location and friendly helpful staff. No ground floor units had direct access to outside for dogs, but a short walk down the hall would suffice. Apartments were very nice. Will visit again.
