Brookdale

Brookdale has very good food! It's like eating at a nice restaurant. What attracted me to Brookdale was that they have all levels of care on one campus. Independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. So no matter what the needs of the resident are Brookdale has something for everyone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They know their residents by name and try to anticipate their needs.

Facility clean and staff very helpful and friendly. I would recommend to others for sure.

We have had good experiences with the limited interaction we've had. My mother in law seems happy. I know we do love the grounds - it's totally different from other places we looked as where the residents would be Inside all the time and not much outdoor space

They are all wonderful and devoted to make a residents stay a great experience.

They have lots of activities. She is well taken care of. Whenever I stop by the place is very clean. They have outings and good food.

[name removed] and [name removed] were so wonderful in explaining the senior living community of Brookdale Oak Park. [name removed] was so responsive to our questions and concerns prior to move in date. The move in of our mother was seamless and [name removed] greeted us in day one with lunch for all. [name removed] also helped with the transition to senior independent living for our mother. She connected her with ambassadors that helped our mother to navigate the beautiful dining experience with company. We cannot that the entire team at Brookdale Oak Park for the warm welcome and great care of our mother.

Staff is great, very friendly and helpful. They really care about the residents. Definitely recommend. The apartment is much more spacious than many others out there. Mom has a good size living room and bedroom. Sliding glass door going to the courtyard. It's really nice. Only draw back is they are having trouble with activities happening consistently. Meaning the people who are to show up for the activity are not consistent. Example chair yoga lady is a no show quite often. Hair dresser is a no show also.

Yes, just got out of my mtg. They do a really good job at the care part. When mom balked for a while, [name removed] did a great job of asking when he should call back, and then calmly calling back (or texting) exactly when I'd asked him to. For a reluctant resident, he was great at clearly presenting why Brookdale was a great choice, without high pressure sales tactics. They also followed through with making mom's transition as easy as possible - there's an active welcome committee of residents that pulled her right in. It's still hard of course, but was far easier than we'd expected. Staff has low turnover, and it shows. Overall excellent experience.

My wife and I have visited several assisted living facilities in the Southwest suburbs for her 74 year brother with neuropathy and we clearly found Brookdale to be our #1 choice. First, the facility is clean and comfortable; somewhat of a home like atmosphere. Next, we have met several staff members who go above being personable and caring. The residents all seem to be well cared for, the variety of food looks delicious and there are lots of available activities. As a matter of fact, I actually enjoyed listening to the residents and staff interacting in the community lounge on several occasions. I realize all too well that transitioning from your home and losing one’s independence is difficult and the responsibilities of the staff are not always easy, but the folks at Brookdale really care about the people they care for.

Brookdale Northshore is awesome. The staff is great and the people are very friendly. The dining room staff is awesome. There are always several choices on the menu, not just one. The food is quite tasty. I'm extremely happy living here here at Brookdale.

The staff is very helpful. They are so kind and accommodating. The facility is clean. It is dated but well maintained. I would definitely recommend! In fact a friend just placed her mom in Brookdale in Michigan from my recommendation. Happy! That's how I feel. Because my mom is happy. She has activities everyday. She loves being busy and talking to people. The staff engage her and make her feel important.

Was not happy with first day, but after short visit/talk, all went well, and staff were very nice ,the lady ( mgr),I talked with was named [name removed], but believe she's no longer there .Two other hands on staff were also good and understanding!! Overall , fairly good , just make sure details of what to expect is made clear at first, took me a second day, because of some TX State regulations on bed !!!

The facilities are clean and neat. It’s actually a pleasant place to be in unlike many ALF’s I’ve seen. The staff is very good and attentive to the residence. The nurses are particularly good and available, also unlike many ALF’s I’ve seen.

The staff are amazing. They truly treat their residents like family. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

They are truly the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever met on my journey to help navigate through my parents many changes and the help made the changes go very smoothly. Really, an awesome staff!

Food was generally excellent and nutritious. Nursing care and aides were friendly and competent while some were better than others, of course. Many activities and programs were offered and special occasions were marked with families invited to a really special meal. The only problem I had was that too many of the people living there were bed ridden or didn't want to leave their rooms at all or had some degree of dementia. These problems kept really stimulating activities to a minimum. However, in a wheel hair or on a walker, I'm sure I wasn't at my best either. I did go the art and craft sessions and attend all musical performances. Staying there was a seductive option as it was so easy. But PT and OT and health nurse all said I must go home, and they were right. I'm still acting like a hermit using long term care aides, but I'm getting better about seeing friends.

I would rate them 5 on everything. My brother passed away in October 2024. They could not have been more helpful and caring. Brookdale Murray was kept very clean. But the outstanding part of it was the staff. They really cared for my brother and went above and beyond expectations for not only for him but also my family.

My mother, now 96, has spent 8 years at [community removed] when she needed assisted living, and now perhaps 10 years at Brookdale Torbett just 1/4 mile away, where they helped to move her when her dementia caused her to need to be in a more controlled memory care environment. I cannot say enough for the management and staff of these facilities. Over this many years there have been plenty of opportunities for me to see any indication of a lack of care or caring, and I've seen none of that. Its unusual in such a small facility, but it isn't often that they don't have 3-4 caregivers on the floor working with the residents just on my mom's side of this relatively small facility. And my mother is in love with everyone who works there: caregivers, administrative staff, nursing & health & wellness staff, and management. Through the coronavirus, lots of other illnesses that routinely attack elder facilities, and normal day-to-day living, these people really care for their residents.

My parents were in need of Assisted Living and at least one of them will need Memory Care soon. We looked at several places and found a few good ones, 1 terrible one, and then we found the Solana at Vintage Park. The staff, the facility, the food, the programs - it stood out miles from it's competition. Then we started meeting the residents - they are happy and well cared for in both Assisted and Memory Care. The staff is cheerful and helpful. If you are need of a place that looks good, smells good, has a great staff, is happy and peaceful during the week and on the weekends then stop - your search is over - you found it at Solana Vintage Park!
