I give them a 5+ on all. They were great on everything. They were above and beyond what I had expected, and I would definitely recommend the facility.

The community is friendly, caring, responsive, and has well maintained décor. I like that the community has private rooms with really nice private bathrooms that are well designed, and has a home like feel to it. The staff are good to work with and they are willing to keep the family updated on our loved one. There is an administrative team and they are willing to work as a team to find a resolution to any concerns the family has, and answer our questions.

Our mom has enjoyed spending time with others in the facility, whereas when she was at home, she would just keep to herself and look out the window. So it has been a good environment for her to be around other people. They have a good schedule of activities if you choose to participate. She's doing well under their care under the circumstances.

The staff are great at this community. The care and the extra attention is really above what they have to provide. They go the extra step and provide that attention to my uncle. The one thing that bothers me is that they don't take the residents anywhere. All of the other communities took their residents to different places and that is the only thing that I wish they would change. They take them to the doctor but not out for drives or to the store or anything like that.

It is a new community that is a couple years old. It is presentable. The staff was responsive with any questions or concerns I had about my loved one.

When we first were touring Canyons [name removed] was extremely helpful, she made the entire move in/transition process for our loved one so easy and stress free. She is not the administrator. Our loved one does not always participate in the activities but we do know they have a lot going on and they are great. The value for cost is also excellent.

So glad that they allowed us to tour the community. Such a beautiful place. Our guide [name removed] was so knowledgeable, and was able to answer all our questions. She is a great person to work with.

I'm very appreciative of the care and help the Canyons gave to my Father. They helped us through some very hard times. It's not easy. I want to thank them for going above and beyond in there care. They were terrific group to work with in his care. My Father passed and they gave us the greatest respect I have ever seen. We felt honored that one of the employees attended my Father's funeral. Thank you for the support .

I looked for a very long time. It isn't easy deciding to put your family member in a assisted living . The facility is very warm welcoming place. The memory care unit has been interesting. The staff have such good repore with the patients. They try to keep the patients out of rooms. One gets visitors at times. Just redirect there idea. Its been good to see the kindness with all the patients. My Father has said many times how nice everyone has been to him . They want to keep everyone comfortable. My Father's nurses are great. And offer there assistance to all his family or friends that visit. The chefs in the kitchen do a fantastic job. For as many people that are in there facility they have a great variety of food. And you can choose your menu. Makes things more like home.

This place needs some serious training. If the client is there because they have no capacity to know what is going on, have no sense of right or wrong - then professional care is needed. That is what we thought we were paying for. (Paying a Lot for)

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. My Mom is in the memory care unit and it’s just outstanding the one on one care she gets. They understand her situation well and they’re so kind to her. Mom can’t grasp things easily anymore and it’s just so nice to have people talk with her that try to reassure her and make light of the situation. I haven’t had a chance to try the food but what I’ve seen looks very good. She seems to like it. They also bring treats around for everyone occasionally that they bake in the kitchen, like brownies and rice crispy treats. They’re very good at redirecting her if she gets upset or fixated on something and they have a few activities available. They have books on tape that she listens to and they’ll take everyone in the memory care unit out for lunch once a week. They try to keep everyone out of their rooms as much as possible to socialize and participate in activities. My family is quite pleased with them and the care they’re providing for my Mom.

I am so pleased that we have now moved both my parents here. It is a brand new community so everything is fresh, clean and the staff is all very well trained and even multiple tasks in many of the care giving. My father is in the assisted living area and they are getting to know him and his care needs which have started to change with some memory issue. They have an electronic checklist that all the staff uses so they stay on top of the residents care needs. My mother is now in the memory care where there are only 20 bedrooms and she is doing so well. She has lots of room to walk around, in fact, they a secured outside garden area where she can go as well. The care givers are well trained in the care of dementia/Alzheimers patients so I feel comfortable about the care she is now receiving. The activities director is amazing so involved with the residents takes them on outings and makes sure that all the residents can participate in some sort of activity that they would like. I just can't say enough about this community and the care my parents are getting. It is wonderful.

A Place for Mom has scored Canyons Retirement Community 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
