Finally Feeling at Peace
They were extremely quick with the communication ( also thanks to [name removed] from A Place called Mom ) And now 6 weeks later, are still very good about letting me know what is going on with mom. I visit often and it is good to see that the staff knows who my mom is .. and what she needs .. I feel they take very good care of her and I am so thankful.

They can improve in following the care plan. Room is not always clean and my parents are usually not clean/showered. Their clothing is not changed on a daily basis. One time my mom was wearing the same thing for four day- even to bed. Overall, the facility is clean but housekeeping in the individual rooms that I've seen with my parents is not. Communication is fairly good with instances that happen with my parents. We've also had several family meetings to discuss issues and our next course of action. My sisters and I are there frequently several times a week so we're really on top of this. My experiences are with the dementia care floor of Maplewood in Danbury. It is a nice community with some areas in need of improvement.

The staff at Maplewood was very attentive and caring. My aunt had many issues with her uncontrolled diabetes, but the nurses were on top of it and the staff did their best to get her involved in activities. If she wasn't well enough to go downstairs for activities, we often found her watching a movie on her room with a staff member. She never felt lonely.

They welcomed my Mom with open arms and have helped our family out with good communication. She is starting to adjust to her new place and is coming out of her shell. Everyone here has been great to deal with and never hold back when asked any questions. I recommend Maplewood highly when it’s time to make hard decisions about your elders

We had a very good experience with Maplewood Danbury. Our Mom was comfortable there and she always looked well taken care of. She liked all of the staff and was as happy as she could have been considering her dementia We would use them again

THIS FACILITY IS TRULLY EXCELLENT. I AN SORRY I DID NOT FIND THIS SOONER. THE PERSONNEL WERE OUTSTANDING. MY MOTHER WAS FORMERLY AT SUNRISE OF CRESTWOOD. WHAT A MISTAKE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY FOR ALL LEVELS OF CARE THOUGH I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR THE MEMORY CARE

Although mom was only there a few months I would say 5 across the board. Great place. All of the staff at Maplewood at Danbury were very friendly and accommodating to our needs I absolutely recommend this facility to other families searching.

My experience was nothing short of amazing! When my nephew moved in my sister I was hesitant and honestly worrisome. However, after seeing her for the first time in a longtime, I saw how well she was acclimated to the community and how friendly and attentive the staff was. It was a very home-like feel. I knew that my nephew made the best decision by moving her there.

We moved our mom to Maplewood after 2 other facilities ... and our pleasure and relief at the difference is dramatic! Due to the progression of her Alzheimer's, she is between Assisted Living and Memory Care. MW and its staff view Alzheimer's on a spectrum, and have compassionately customized her care based on changing needs. This allows mom to be relatively autonomous as she joins activities, eats meals in the lovely dining room and walks around the place freely -- she feels known and above all SAFE. MW is spacious, clean and attractive. The medical care is top-rate and the food is fresh and delicious (we love joining her for meals!) Each day is full of activities -- from movies to Bingo to spiritual services to crafts to baking -- and there's an impressive array of live performance. Above all, the seasoned staff is truly happy to be there, and committed to the well-being of each resident. Many have become friends. There's no faking this! We are so grateful to be part of MW!

I visited Maplewood at Danbury for the first time in beginning of 2023. I was greeted at the door by the most friendliest concierge. She led me to the office of the Business Operations Manager, the one who was in charge of Assisted Living consumer needs. I was amazed by the professionalism she displayed and patience in answering all of my questions about the facility and its amenities. Thereon, I would visit Maplewood regularly to check-in with family members, and eventually I became integrated with the wonderful staff as well. They always treated the residents with meticulous care and extended that tenderness to the visitors. I am more than satisfied with my visits at Maplewood and would highly recommend to anyone who is in need of such services!

The hardest realization I had to accept was that I could not give my Mom the level of care that she needed living with me. I had such terrible guilt that I was unable to take on the task, and knowing it was only going to become harder as time went on. I called [name removed] at Maplewood at Danbury, on a rainy Saturday morning while I was at my grandsons soccer game. I was babysitting while trying to care for Mom, I was sobbing while explaining to her I had such shame that I couldn't give Mom the care she needed. She listened to me as I explained what I was feeling, and my sadness. She helped me through one of my hardest times, I will always be thankful for how she helped me emotionally. Maplewood at Danbury is truly one of the most lovely homes have ever seen. The staff are caring, friendly and really make you feel it's one family. Mom is in the safest place she can be, and I will always be so thankful that we have found a family away from home for our Mom.

My mom was living in her own apartment with some support. We started to see it wasn’t enough and she was really not doing well. Maplewood has given my mom a home with lots to do and so many people to help. They know her by name, they know her likes and her interests ,and constantly look out for her. My mom is thriving in her new apartment. There are activities all day and events to participate in. There are three meals beautifully prepared in their dining room. We chose Maplewood as it kept her connected to her community and provided the best support and safety we could ask for. We are truly grateful for all the staff and support and grateful that my mom is safe and happy!!!
