It is more independent than assisted. I have had to keep calling and sending emails to get care done. The director is hands off and care free. The care coordinator is the same. If a person does not want to do something they don't make them. Mom has gone two weeks without a shower. Food trays will be left in her room for hours. Laundry not done. Most of the care staff are nice but not directive.

We really love the Oaks and see it as a huge value for the cost. It's a smaller, more intimate community which we see as really important...especially now that mom is on the memory care side. There is a good level of attention, and they make sure mom is always in the mix with the other residents.

It was good when we first got there. But about 4/5 months ago new management came in and they are horrible. The entire staff quit, the food was horrible, and they couldn't keep any chefs staffed. Would not recommend at all.

The Horizons memory care staff at The Oaks were outstanding and very hard working. There is always a learning curve in a new setting, and they were able to quickly overcome. My mother was there for 17 months, until she passed, and I truly felt she was treated and cared for as well as family by every caregiver. She frequently expressed to me how safe and cared for she felt there. I would highly recommend this facility for care of any loved one needing memory care

It's a nice place and all the support staff are amazing! AMAZING! Recently they hired a new director and they are planning on some renovations to the building. In my opinion, they should spend money on the food quality and opportunities for residents to enjoy fresh air. Renovations seem silly as the place is clean and tidy. They are constantly raising fees which is concerning for the residents on low income. The activity director is nice but not many residents actually engage in any activities. The weekly grocery store visit is often cancelled.

While my father in law passed away in [date removed] I have continued to volunteer and keep in contact with the staff at Oaks at Alpharetta. They still reach out and check on how we are doing if I haven't been by for awhile.

The staff interact with each other and with residents and visitors very professionally, yet with a personal touch that is very welcoming and warm. The atmosphere is very happy, cozy. All of the team are compassionate and genuinely concerned for the residents' wellness.

The staff members at Oaks at Alpharetta are amazing. They care and respect for one another. This creates an environment where your loved one is brought into this loving family. Oaks at Alpharetta has been amazing to my Mom. All the staff, nurses, care givers and volunteers took care of her with love and compassion. My Mom spent 8 months with them before her recent passing and developed a special bond with so many of them as well as the dear friends she made among the residents. My Mom loved the people, activities, field trips and playing cards with friends. I highly recommend Oaks at Alpharetta for anyone that requires assisted living or memory care.

We have been impressed with the staff, their level of care and communication. They are all caring and patient. There is also a lot of support for the families of residents, from support groups to activities designed for family participation. It's a long drive for me to get there, but I find it worth it due to the level of care. I've already recommended them personally to others.

We've had a great experience so far, from the executive director down through the staff. I feel they all care about the residents and the community. The facilities are pleasant and kept clean, and we feel it is a good overall value for what we pay.

This community was much smaller and family orientated. We just did not like the location because it was on the main highway and with my loved one being in memory care we did not think it was a good idea.

I am pleased with the cleanliness of the facility and the concern management and staff have for the comfort and safety of my sister. The building is spotless and in two years I have experienced no bad odor which is amazing. The staff is polite and caring . [name removed] the director works tirelessly to maintain such a phenomenal facility.

Older but clean and feel a little more like home. Country cooking food. Still feel like we are too young for assistant living. Apartment very small and carpet. Bedroom have no space for night stand and only queen size bed will fit in. Not much closets leaving are very small, just fit two recliners.They gave us delicious cake and pie to carry home.
