There are still no visitors allowed, but when we did the tour initially the community was very clean. The meals however are not on time and the portion sizes are to small. Our loved one also does not receive the medication on time. They do have bingo, and bring someone in from time to time to play music, but other than those two things we do not think there are other activities at the moment. The cost was one of the lowest in the area, but with the low cost comes lost care services and meal quality, so you get what you pay for.

I am very disappointed. I find it depressing with little participation by the residents. I understand the food is poor. Younger attendents seem helpful and pleasant but others seem indifferent. The sales manager who influenced our decision is no longer there.

I am somewhat disappointed with my experience with Scottsdale Memory Care after my experience with another memory care facility in the Phoenix area. The facility is clean and modern, but the staff (especially the staff after 5 pm) seem removed, uncaring and inattentive. For example, my husband visited after dinner and several staff members were just sitting around playing with their smart phones and/or eating. He asked for assistance and the worker responded as if he was put off by having to actually do something other than play with his phone. At the previous facility where our family member resided the staff were very engaged with the residents no matter what time of day we visited and were always very responsive to his needs and our questions regarding his care. I also have not been very impressed with the senior leadership as I did not receive timely responses to several emails asking for documents and advising of important information.

Communication is very poor. There are far too many mistakes made and service is inconsistent. Our cottage, a duplex, is good. We have 2 bedrooms and 2 bath rooms and a garage. We have a patio with lawn in the back. We really like Monmouth, a small town that we can walk to most locations. As far as the staff, we are in independent living, so only deal with the senior staff. There are several that do a great job, but there some that we have been very disappointed with. Independent living is only about 15% of the residents. Many times our needs and wishes are ignored, the emphasis is on assisted living. The community has some good and some not so good qualities The independent living facility is good. Management of the overall community could use some improvement

I give the Director of the Med Tech., and care givers doesn't seem to know how to run her department. She doesn't return phone calls or answer emails. It's like pulling teeth to get ahold of her and get a follow-up answer. The man in charge of housekeepers and maintenance is over worked and understaffed. He also doesn't answer calls. The housekeepers do a lousy job is what they're suppose to do. The 2 activity people are excellent and very positive and upbeat with the residents. Bathrooms are not large enough to accommodate a walker and that is a challenge. I'm truly not happy with this place. I would not recommend it to any one.

I toured with Sunnycrest Senior Living and I thought it was dated, dingy and the whole experience was unpleasant! I knew as soon as I walked in that I could never move into that place!

My wife was there until her death in April of 2021. Based on my conversations with her, and on first hand experience one night when she requested staff assistance to use the restroom, they were short staffed and had frequent staff turnover.

My review:. The food is nothing what Compass advertises. It says ~ Their dining experience will tickle your tongue with homemade meals made from scratch, healthy & delicious. This food is full of carbs not a heart healthy or low fat or good for diabetics.The food they serve is frozen prepared cardboard, unhealthy, the cheapest they can buy. Very small portions and good luck on seconds. Now they also want to charge $5 to the ones that can't make it to the kitchen, for the kitchen to walk it upstairs. Then when they do get it - cold cold. They leave soiled trash in halls for 30mins on up and yes it smells the hallway up. Also, Med Techs they get 3 days, basically 24hrs of training to hand out meds. Sometimes they will forget a pill or two and you ask where is it. Sometimes it needs reordered/they can't find it or the just forgot. We had caring staff then they got rid of them-became short staffed with sometimes 2 care partners for 75 resident daytime and 1 at night.

Moved two family members here within the last year. There are some great individuals that work here, but the overall system is dysfunctional. Knowing what I know now, I would not have placed my loved ones here. We trusted the care team to provide medication. After a physician asked to see the log of medications - related to an emergency surgery - I discovered that medication was regularly not administered and that their logs were incomplete. They administered medication that was not logged. This is based on hours of research, including copies of their logs. The ceiling recently caved in due to water damage. The lobby feels like a hazmat area with plastic sheeting creating tunnels for movement between the front door and the living areas. The service in the dining hall isn't great. I've witnessed bitter waitresses complain about their work. One stated: "I can't believe I have to deal with this crap for $12 an hour." It's pretty clear that the staff is overwhelmed. They are working in a tough environment with a lot of demands on their time. This means that getting meaningful, timely assistance is difficult. We have paid thousands of dollars for 3rd party care-giving because we do not trust the reliability of the in-house team. I hope this all changes for the better soon, but there have been at least two different Directors, the sales person that we worked with has quit and many of the caregivers state they are in the process of quitting.

These reviews are old. Currently, as of [date removed]. This place has gone downhill. It is under new management for a little over a year now. The new staff are all young and incompetent. The prices have gone up, not down. They charge for everything and deliver very little. The meals are not specific to each residents dietary requirements. This place at one time was a very nice place for a loved one. now it's a great place to dump someone you cannot stand. This place need to be sold to someone who cares about people and not just making money. Unfortunately, it is very hard to find a place with a staff that will take care of your special someone. Be very diligent and get all the information before settling into this place. Be warned.

I toured Surprise Memory Care while looking for living options for my mother. I wasn’t really impressed with this community. Right when I walked in, I smelled an odor like dirty laundry to put it nicely. I would not recommend this community to others for that reason.

Banner Del Webb hospital recommended surprise memory care for my mother's respite care.. Mom definitely has memory problems, but she was not as in need as most of the residents here. She was aware that we had to leave her to return to Georgia to prepare for her move. When I returned a week later to get her, I arrived around 4:30 in the afternoon. Her room was stifling hot. The stock photos were misleading. Mom's room was a twin bed, no TV, no art, and although she was expected to only a short time, there was no equipment on site for her to use. She weighed 120 pounds in the hospital, and a week later she was 115 fully clothed. She was dirty, some of her clothes were missing, the shelves with her supplies were in disarray, her personal hygiene was awful. I asked that afternoon for her to be showered for her flight the following morning. At 9 AM she was dressed in some of the clothes from the day before. And she smelled distressingly bad. I tried to follow up during her stay about her physical therapy. One person came out to evaluate her, but according to login charts, she never had any actual therapy. For the same $175 a day charge, her respite care in Georgia was 180° better with a full-size bed, places to sit, a small TV, a kitchenette, and a small balcony, and actual physical therapy. I spoke with the Surprise administrator who was surprisingly defensive. She said that scales will vary in accuracy and that she could do some follow up, but had a meeting the next day. She also said she would have the on-site nurse called me the next day. If I was called, no message was left. It's about a week later, and I'm too busy relocating my parents to follow up with phone calls, thus the lengthy review. I will agree that surprise memory care is a beautiful facility, very clean, and most of the staff seemed professional. It may be a fine place for long-term residents, however, they have a long way to go on respite care and I cannot recommend them.

Liked the activities, recently hired a new executive director whom is just a high pressure salesperson. Need more compassionate staff who are not concerned about making a bonus every month.

The staff seem very inexperienced at Renaissance Village Rancho Belago. The meals offered for vegetarians could be improved a lot. I would also like like to see them have more of an exercise facility for the residents or maybe a pool even.

Indicates there is both independent and assisted living available; though it is Monmouth, I will probably visit; I just spoke w/a representative. The cottages are independent. All are 2bdrm. Cost quoted was $2700, but I do not know if that includes meals. It is lower on the list for now.

They either can't do it, won't do it, don't show up, or they aren't trained to do it. Even just putting on TED Hose. She has to hire a private staff because nobody responds to the bell. They seem to have a lot activities going on and they were posted well. Their marketing is huge high pressure. The food is marginal, If one of the chefs is there they try hard but when he's off the food is not good. She has a nice room.
